Innovation

Letter from Boston

I presented on industrial platforming to a mostly aerospace audience. Okay presentation. A man from Raytheon offered me a job. Instead of sleeping before my flight I drank with the group of South American entrepreneurs starting something new called crypto. It’s 18 hours home with time to kill in Midland where I watch an O&G middle manager from Red Deer thinking he’s having an adventure try and fail to charge his beer on a foreign card, but most of my time is on a bus going to Mexico listening to the driver and just one other person discuss in Spanish the best weightlifting methods. I get off in Alpine and go to the Blues by the railroad tracks (everything in Alpine is by the railroad tracks). The girl I chat with runs an escort service in the fracking fields and tells me which girls the men prefer by skin color. When I get to my house theres a very rare desert turtle walking up my steps. The next day I call the bus line and thank the driver for waiting an extra half hour in the parking lot for me, the sun was incredible that afternoon.

Boston and Midland. 2017.
