Prada Marfa is a site specific, permanent land art project by artists Elmgreen & Dragset, commissioned by Art Production Fund and Ballroom Marfa in 2005. Modeled after a Prada boutique and located in the Chihuahuan Desert grasslands of Far West Texas.
I spent a year going to Valentine, TX to meet with my friend, colleague, and the caretaker, Boyd Elder, to manage this work. It was a special experience to be one of the few who’s seen the view standing inside the store and looking out at the high desert.
