This is the most secretive and best-smelling building in the world.
Inside is the Tootsie Roll factory. Outside is the smell of chocolate, sugar, and caramel.
Tours are not allowed. The old CEO has cut ties with the world. Tootsie Roll does not talk to journalists or hold quarterly earnings calls and issues financial reports on crookedly scanned PDFs. Securities analysts gave up trying to cover them in 2011 due to a lack of information.
The language barrier with one of the workers on a smoke break prevented me from getting inside. This is the olfactory ol' factory.
