Toyotas of Stuff
The legendary Toyota 22RE in Terrell County
N and his family were taking two from Colorado to Guatemala which will take five days. From Terrell, a low-population border county, they’ll cross anywhere from Ciudad Acuña east. He didn’t want to cross too far down toward Matamoros because of narco extortion, although he wasn’t too bothered by that and shrugged it off. As U.S. citizens, he said they’d just turn around.
He told me this Toyota is the one they want because Japan never stopped sending parts to Guatemala, plus it’s good for high elevation and rough roads. We discussed the differences between border crossing into Mexico and Guatemala, passports, and immigration. And the new cameras and border tech along the Texas line.
The sales pitch for a Toyota truck isn’t hard, but this one was really good. We looked at some saved on his phone between $6k - $10k USD. People follow the Toyotas of War, but I like the Toyotas of Stuff.
