The Meditation Room

(more soon)

The Meditation Room, “A Room of Quiet”, opened in 1952. The altar is a six ton iron stone donated by Sweden. Benches were designed by Carl Malmsten. The mural is by Bo Beskow, Dag Hammarskjöld’s close friend.

The design aligns with the room’s interfaith purpose where people could withdraw into themselves.
