Refugee Resettlement

Humane and dignified futures

Currently I consult for an American refugee resettlement agency helping people who have left their home due to persecution, genocide, and conflict.

A handful of the organizations mandated by The U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) accepting referrals for refugees determined to be particularly vulnerable and in need of the protection provided by third-country resettlement have been doing this work for decades, and in partnership with a network of affiliate agencies and volunteers.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) estimates there are more than 120 million people forcibly displaced across the globe. While a majority are displaced internally (within their own countries), 43.4 million are forced to flee.

I understand the best criticism of the bad to be the practice of the better. Read my working principles here.
