Creative Inquiry
Private Individual Consulting
In personalized sessions I work with you on methods for your creative inquiry, innovation, invention, and artistry. Because this covers a lot of ground, sessions are specifically built around your objectives, field, and vision.
The creation of innovative concepts is often one of the most misunderstood, transformative, and significantly influential phenomena.
Failing to engage in meaningful contemplation and practice of our creativity can result in confusion, frustration, or depletion of our energy.
In private individual consulting sessions, depending on your needs, I help you either reduce ambiguity in decision making, or expand on speculative ideas, scenarios, and possibilities. At the center lies a dynamic environment for exciting and invigorating new work.

Description
Welcome. I built this consulting stream because I noticed people have few peers or advisors they can freely discuss their creativity and ideas with, who don’t have agendas of their own. This leads to skewed feedback, reluctance to share incomplete concepts, and an ongoing concern about navigating bureaucracy or competitive settings.
At times, those who urge us to be creative may not fully grasp the concept of creativity themselves, despite the fact that almost every job listing cites creativity as an essential skill.
We will look at effective ways to approach your work, think about your field, and connect how you see things with your choices and actions.
Creative Inquiry consists of personalized one-on-one consulting sessions. We concentrate on your unique situation, goals, and requirements within a confidential environment. If you're facing issues that impact your confidence or if the questions you're considering feel stagnant, it’s worth a discussion.
Releasing habitual thought patterns can be helped by different framing, which is useful well after our time together. However, frameworks on their own are not enough. Individual sessions provide an opportunity to address your creative concerns in a candid and trusting environment. Often, this involves formulating better questions or receiving curious, critical, and calm feedback.
Our choices reflect our culture and beliefs. How creative we are, and how we discuss our creativity, affects what we focus on, our goals, influence, methods, and readiness to take risks or experiment. I assist you in getting to the heart of your specific situation and revitalizing your creative work. If one of your projects failed or there’s been cause for heartbreak, we can discuss that as well.
We might examine into new ideas, innovation, research and development, and the effects of new technologies, dominant platforms, and power structures. Hype and hustle is everywhere. The urgency to evolve, confront challenges, and move away from rigid thinking is frequently overlooked.
Regardless of whether you are new to creative endeavors or returning to a practice after a significant break, my hope is that Creative Inquiry inspires you to think and act from a deeper wisdom, invigorate your perspective in a way that others notice, and allows you to experience being genuine in your meaning-making and imaginative processes.
Even the brightest and most aware people have been helped along the way.
Objectives
Guidance is aligned with your focus of interest and objectives. Few domains are off limits. Clients may have creative requirements stemming from various fields, including industry, transportation, material culture, musical and visual arts, patents and commercialization, or science and technology. If I am not the ideal collaborator for your project, I may be able to connect you with someone who is.
Gain the ability to understand and contextualize your creativity and ideas.
Improve your creativity by diving into a variety of visual and written methods for self-expression and self-exploration. Get past rigid thinking and reactive behaviors.
Freely and openly discuss obstacles and ambition with a trusted, uniquely qualified consultant who has no conflicting agenda. I work behind the scenes on your behalf, both analytical and empathetic, critical and curious.
Impact
Clients come to this for many reasons. They might have used others as a sounding board and been hurt by broken trust or baffling feedback. Coaches may not have necessary comprehension of the systems you’re navigating. Counsellors, though skilled at supporting wellbeing, may not be examining signals of change. Even experts and teachers can have conflicting loyalties.
Many find consulting sessions useful for identifying and changing unhealthy ways of working, while others seek to adjust the unhelpful limits they’re setting on themselves. Still others may be juggling competing priorities, nurturing side-projects, being perceived unfairly, or trying to make their way when things feel unforgiving.
Courage in creative inquiry, ideas, and even in our mistakes are some of the most potent dimensions of the human experience.
Scheduling
I contact you within one business day to schedule your first appointment after you book online and find a time that works. We meet over Zoom or use similar software with details provided by email before we meet. You receive a pre-meeting form to fill out that helps me understand your goals and challenges. Give yourself about 15 to 30 minutes on this, so our time together can be well spent.
Accessibility and Materials
Please have suitable internet connection for video meeting online. Accommodations for accessibility will be confirmed over email.
Details
Creative Inquiry is a short and high impact series of one-on-one individual consulting sessions, starting with a needs assessment over email, then a 60 minute video or phone meeting. Detailed notes and a clear plan for implementing what we discuss are provided by email, along with resources that we’ve discussed. We then meet for a 45-60 minute follow up conversation to assess how you’re doing, reflect on successful change, and touch on potential long-term impact.
Our work is conducted in English.
There are no pre-requisites to meet. People working at all levels and in any field will benefit. Consultation is tailored to your situation.
Clients will benefit by scheduling the follow-up call within about four weeks from when we meet. A discount for further collaboration and access to other programs will be shared with you.
Financial Assistance
To get financial help, fill out the online form at least one week before you want to start. Please do not book online until I’ve had a chance to process your request and get back to you.
Further Collaboration
Depending on your specific needs I may suggest supplemental articles, media, and resources. Moving forward will be helped by exploring technique, critical and curious discussions, journaling, reflective practice, and working with others.
Further collaboration is an option. I can work with you through delivery of a complicated project, for example, or in periods of rapid, extensive, and stressful change. If there are people in my network I can introduce you to, or if you are seeking mentorship we can chat about that. Extended time together is available.

About Kendra
I’m glad you’re here. I built my consultancy because I saw a need for people who are navigating complex systems and pursuing projects that matter to them to widen their awareness, deepen understanding, and better connect perception with action.
My work allows me to get involved in almost every kind of field, working in different cultures, and opening up long-term connections. I have hands-on experience in foresight, scenario building, collaborative negotiation, program design, conflict analysis, communication in fragile states, facilitation, design thinking, creative inquiry, alternative futures, art, invention, and complex systems.
I also speak, write, and teach on all things futuristic, art and technology, sacred art and architecture, and olfactive art.
-
I have helped lead or serve on projects for The United States Man and the Biosphere Program, Apple, NASA Artemis Mission Moon Tree Program, The United Nations, US.-Mexico Borderlands Coalitions, The International Leadership Association, Ballroom Marfa, MFAH, The Menil Collection, The Poster Institute, and various arts organizations.
Currently I consult for an American refugee resettlement agency that finds durable ways forward for people who have fled their home due to persecution, conflict, or genocide.
A graduate of Royal Roads University’s Master of Leadership program, I previously worked for a decade in Strategic Operations and Logistics for Apple, Inc., reporting to VPs, where I engaged in the launches of society-shifting technology, including the first iPhone and expansion in Latin America. I’ve co-founded startups that failed and some that were successful. My work has been recognized in Chronicle Books, Odou, Wired, Palladium, Soundscreen Design, and by The Institute for Art and Olfaction and SXSW.
I have deep interest in emerging futures and what might be called the bigger questions. I’m pursuing a master’s in Philosophy and Theology, drawing from the belief that how we make meaning drives behavior, and creates conditions for transforming many of our personal and collective challenges, while understanding the practical tension of systems oriented to hoarding power.
I trained in Strategic Foresight through University of Houston and earned my grad diploma in Innovation and Technology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I try to stay curious, critical, and creative and draw on my education in art and design through Alberta University of the Arts, Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, and Accademia Italiana in Florence. My first training in leadership was at age 15 during extended outdoor expeditions in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
I split time between the quiet high Chihuahuan Desert and a full schedule traveling to work with people. When I’m not working, I love desert running, art and film, time with friends, listening to music, and following independent journalism from around the world.
I look forward to meeting you!
